I cannot imagine many of us dreaming of being an HR professional when we were growing up, and I am no different. After taking nearly all the business classes at my high school, I opted to pursue an associate degree in accounting at Western Technical College. Only half a semester in, I knew I made the wrong choice; I hate numbers! With that in mind, I switched my major to human resources management with a minor in marketing.
While working towards my associate degree, I accepted my first HR internship at Innovia Consulting, became the Western Technical College SHRM collegiate chapter president, and won the WISHRM HR Games (shoutout to Ethan Kerker and Carlie Harnish).

After graduation, I continued my education at Viterbo University. I majored in business administration, served as the Viterbo University SHRM collegiate chapter president, and completed two more HR internships at Schilling Supply Company and Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration (FSPA) before starting my first full-time HR adjacent job at Workforce Connections. After receiving my bachelor's degree, I began working towards my MBA at Viterbo University.

In January 2020, I joined the La Crosse Area SHRM (LASHRM) board as the Workforce Readiness Chair. Amidst the chaos of 2020, I went back to Innovia Consulting, where it all started. Since then, I have completed my MBA, passed my SHRM-CP, became the Programming Director for LASHRM and WISHRM, and been a member of the WISHRM Conference Smile Team since 2022.

Currently, I am studying for my GPHR certification and playing with the idea of starting an HR podcast and/or running for LASHRM President.
