As a part of the WISHRM State Conference SMILE Team, I have the opportunity to engage with speakers and exhibitors, gaining insights into what to anticipate at the upcoming conference. Today I spoke with one of the WISHRM25 Vendors, Liz Lauretic, about Project WisHope.
Q & A with Liz:
Who should stop at the WisHope Recovery booth?
Anyone interested in learning more about Substance Use Disorder with co-occurring mental health treatment for themselves, a loved one, or employees! Want to make your workplace a recovery-friendly organization? Want to set up for our administrative team to come to your business to teach you and your team Narcan administration for FREE? Come on over and let's chat!
Can you provide a brief summary about WisHope Recovery for anyone not familiar?
HR Professionals can support employees with family or close friends who may be struggling with addiction in many ways! Today, many people are afraid to have tough conversations revolving around SUDs and mental health. However, it's important for those struggling to know they have a team in their corner ready to support them! If you think someone may be struggling, reach out to them. See how you can support them. Ask if they want to go to a meeting with you. Assist in finding them treatment if they are ready. The most important thing is letting them know they aren't alone and recovery is possible.

What are you most looking forward to at WISHRM25?
Meeting new HR professionals from WI! I love to connect with them and see their business missions, trends, operations and functions. Also the incredible catering staff!
What’s a good starting point for employers to create a supportive work environment?
Having an open door and letting your employees know you are always willing to have conversations with them about their concerns and needs. This allows for individuals to feel comfortable and welcome to engage with their HR reps.
Anything else that WI HR Professionals and People Leaders should know? Always lead by example! I think this is something we always forget but is so, so important. Demonstrating the company's values daily and integrating them into your work truly makes the difference with your co-workers!
